These days you can just wonder on
Endless seas of 0s and 1s with humans attached
I didn’t want that for me, desire for god, dharma, real and warm
This time, my heart was left open, dispatched
A wash of colour, a canvas of ideas and conversation
No fixed structured form, freedom, a Rothko
Flowing like blood from a wound, red like the face it came from
This time, my heart was left open, or so
I felt like a person again, even just for a brief moment
It passed like the sun over the slabs of bluestone
Would have cost us millions, if this was the days of the phone booth
This time, my heart was left open, hole in the ozone
It’s dangerous and it’s weakness, to fall inward
Inward to the abyss that is being whole
Step by step by step by step
This time, my heart was left open, the best kind of black hole
I promise you I’m not hurt, I’m hurting
Heart on my sleeve, it’s bittersweet
I don’t want to close the gate on it all, leaving it ajar
This time, my heart was left open, time to go in to retreat
I want you to be better, braver stronger but also weaker
Because weaker would mean that no problems would be had
A stamp on the year, an opener, but not a supporting act
This time, my heart was left open, an symbolic newspaper ad
The sort of music that is beyond time.
The sort of music that you feel more than you hear.
I love the fact that vaporwave/dreampunk projects like these have such extremely evocative aesthetics they directly fill your mind with sensations you didn't know you had. You'd maybe think it relies on that solely, but it's coupled with gorgeous musicianship + intense production ideas. The volume and spaces it creates just pull you in instantly whatever your initial mood was.
Still stunning to this day. SUPRAQUENCER
As haunting and hypnotizing as going through the MGS series in release order and growing more and more captivated by the fandom's fabled Venom Snake without knowing a single thing about him. No, but seriously, this album is a work of art to transport you far, far away, an idea that draws you into the abstract. quietis
